I hope there aren't a bunch of unethical supporters (or detractors!) distorting the stats.

The Iowa poll (Paul at 0%) was of likely caucus goers. However, in New Hampshire, a recent Zogby poll of likely Republican primary voters showed Paul at 3%, with the rest of the so-called "second tier" candidates at 1% or less.
I suspect the difference is at least partially due to the fact that Paul is attracting a lot of his support from disaffected Republican, Independents, and people who traditionally haven't voted in primaries (or at all).
